Position Responsibilities
Full-time, non-exempt position responsible for successfully performing the following functions with on a daily basis:
- Responsible for CAM programming offline to allow CNC machines to run more efficiently
- Responsible for independently setting up, operating and monitoring various CNC machining centers.
- Responsible for accurately recording production deviations and other notations necessary to consistently improve and produce a high quality product.
- Responsible for reading and following specific shop instructions and operating various other cutting, grinding and polishing machines to create specific products.
- Responsible for performing ongoing quality checks on all parts produced from various to ensure compliance with established drawings and specifications.
- Responsible for making frequent adjustments and recalibrations to various machines to ensure safe and quality operations.
- Responsible for ongoing housekeeping activities and inspections of various machines and processes to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Work with production supervisor and other department personnel in a cooperative and collaborative manner to expedite orders within the lathe area so as to meet and exceed customer expectations in a cost effective manner.
- Continually suggest and assist the production supervisor with implementing department and process improvements to increase overall productivity.
- Perform other functions or responsibilities as requested or required.
Skills & Abilities Required To Perform Position
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School diploma or GED required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of three years experience operating, programming and setting up CNC machines.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in CAM programming.
- Experience setting up, operating and monitoring various manual lathe machines and turning centers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and utilize technical information.
- Ability to successfully read and understand shop orders and blueprints.
- Ability to successfully read and utilize inspection and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors and ruler)
- Proven problem solving skills and an ability to successfully work in an independent manner.
- Solid math skills to understand product dimensions.
- The ability and willingness to work successfully in a team environment.
- The ability and willingness to comply with company policies and safety procedures on a consistent basis.
- Excellent attendance history and ability to come to work on time every day.
- Availability to work overtime as needed or required to meet department goals and objectives.
Non-Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors
- Attendance at trade school, or machining certification courses or secondary schooling programs.
- Previous knowledge of carbon products.
- Ability to provide own tools would be a plus.

- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds with equipment assistance on an occasional basis.
